ACOR, the Art Club of Oak Run, is a group of men and women who share a love of art. Our purpose is to promote and educate members as to the various art media forms through classes, demonstrations and fun experiences… as well as sharing our own skills and talents. Membership is $10 per calendar year and is open only to residents of Oak Run.
The benefits of joining ACOR begin with time spent with other creative people and, whether you’re a beginner or experienced, you’re welcome to join us. Our members include people at all skill levels, including those who want to learn to draw or paint to those who sell their work.
Oak Run’s Island Club is a fabulous clubhouse that is perfect for our needs. We have access to the Island Club every Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon. Join us and enjoy our:
Monthly meetings (3rd Wednesdays) with refreshments, updates on ACOR activities, and a specific topic of interest. We often bring in outside artists to provide the main presentation or demonstration.
Focusand assistance in drawing (pencil, charcoal, pastels) and painting (watercolor, acrylic, oil). Whatever your medium, we have members using it.
Classes by outside instructors who are known for their teaching and artwork. Since the instructors are paid, the classes have a minimal attendee fee and are usually scheduled for 4 sessions of 2 hours each.
Annual Fine Arts Show that’s open to the public where we can show and sell our artwork.
Techniques and Topics are often scheduled on those miscellaneous Tuesdays or Wednesdays when we focus on something specific… and always have fun in the process.
Occasional outings to the museums, plein air, or holiday lunch, etc.
Space to work on your art. When we don’t have something scheduled on a Tuesday or Wednesday, members are free to use the space to work on their art, etc.
ACOR.club is our website with updates about events and classes, plus emails are frequently sent out as reminders.
